Shrewsbury boss reveals classy touch from Virgil van Dijk after FA Cup game

Shrewsbury Town head coach Steve Cotterill has been very impressed with Virgil van Dijk's gesture after the FA Cup clash at Anfield.

“I’m very, very proud of our lads and very thankful to how Liverpool Football Club have been towards us today, from Jurgen Klopp, all the way through their team," Cotterill said, as per the Liverpool Echo.

"Virgil came into our dressing room and congratulated everyone & brought his shirt in.

"Not only is he a top player he is a gentleman and it was a very good experience for our players today. You can’t go away from here and not think that this is a special football club."

Virgil was the Liverpool captain in the game on Sunday that saw the Reds through to the fourth round of the FA Cup.

It may be a routine win for the Premier League side, but it surely is a special occasion for the League One side - so, Van Dijk's gesture is something their players will remember for a long time.
