Fabinho keeps his promise to score more, delivers at earliest opportunity against Brentford

Fabinho spoke after the Shrewsbury win about the need to get into better positions and contribute to the attack.

The Reds' defensive midfielder promised to score more goals and delivered on that promise on the first time of asking.

He had said: "If I can be more decisive in the other part of the pitch as well, scoring or giving assists, of course I would be more than happy."

He got in at the far post after a brilliant ball from Trent Alexander-Arnold and nodded home to give the Reds the lead against Brentford on Sunday.

The sign of a truly great player is the ability to make promises and then back them up with your performances, and Fabinho did exactly that.
