4 players could leave Anfield as free agents this summer: Liverpool contract round-up

With the January transfer window underway, a lot of focus is on the transfer market and who clubs can bring in.

However, we must also keep some focus on the contract side of things too! The Reds have four players whose contracts are up at the end of this season - let's take a look at who they are and what their future looks like at Liverpool.

James Milner

Milner has made over 250 appearances for the Reds since joining us back in 2015. However, he is no longer the player he once was and while he does a good job filling in when required, his time at the club looks set to be up soon.

He reportedly earns £150k a week and at the moment, there has been no news of him extending his deal here. A transfer away is very likely in the summer.

Adrian

The 35-year-old will mostly leave Anfield once his deal is up. Adrian had a few good moments in his Liverpool career but has been firmly usurped by Caoimhin Kelleher as the backup keeper.

Loris Karius

Karius was likely to leave this month but hasn't been able to find a club to take him on. He hasn't made a single appearance for the Reds since the ill-fated 2018 Champions League final and there is absolutely zero chance of his stay here extending.

Divock Origi

After the signing of Luis Diaz, there are a few rumours of Origi being allowed to leave this month. That is still a little unlikely but we can infer that the striker's deal won't be renewed if the Reds are looking to offload him now. He's had a memorable time here but a new striker in the summer window makes more sense for Liverpool.
