Gerrard's Villa give Everton lifeline in relegation battle by beating Burnley

Steven Gerrard's Aston Villa have defeated Burnley 3-1.

Burnley are in a relegation dogfight with Everton and Leeds so the result surely brings some joy to fans of these two sides.

The Toffees are 18th in the standings, two points behind Leeds and Burnley. But Lampard's team has played 33 games, one and two less than the Whites and the Clarets, respectively.

Everton face Leicester on Sunday.
