'You need to appreciate what they have done': Gundogan's message to Liverpool after winning title for Man City

Ilkay Gundogan scored a brace for Manchester City as they beat Aston Villa 3-2 to claim the Premier League title.

He said after the game: "Liverpool played an incredible season. If they were not there, I don't think this league would have been that attractive. We pushed each other again to our limits. You need to appreciate what they have done.

"Congratulations to them and to my former coach, who I still like a lot. We are looking forward to competing with them again next season."

Gundogan played under Jurgen Klopp's management at Dortmund and clearly still has a lot of love for the German.

It's a great message from the City man - hopefully, we can beat them to the title next season.
