Nottingham Forest have completed the biggest transfer in their history, signing former Liverpool forward Taiwo Awoniyi for a reported £17million fee.

The Nigerian left Liverpool just last season in a £6.5million deal with Union Berlin. In one season in the German side, the 24-year-old scored 20 goals across all competitions and earned a return to the Premier League.

As for Liverpool, they have earned over £1.5million thanks to negotiating a 10% sell-on clause in the deal with Union Berlin.

In total, the Reds earned over ₤8m for a player who has not played a single game for them in his professional career. That's definitely not the worst deal in the club's history.
