"I was so happy when I joined the LFC family 2 and a half years ago but my time has come to an end.

"I had a fantastic time and I will never forget the massive support I received from you all at Anfield.

Since January 2020, Minamino played 55 games for Liverpool, scoring 14 goals - including 10 goals in 24 games last season.

Liverpool could receive up to £15.5m from Monaco for Minamino's transfer, including add-ons.

After two and a half years with the club, 

 will leave Liverpool to join AS Monaco on a permanent transfer.

Manager Jurgen Klopp said goodbye to the Japanese international in the most beautiful way possible (via Liverpool FC): "It’s hard to see Taki go, but it’s a great move for him and one he thoroughly deserves.

"An amazing professional; super, talented player. As a person, he is full of warmth and makes everyone feel positive. A manager’s dream, to be honest.

"I’m sure there will be those who think it didn’t quite work out. Those who think this are wrong. I don’t accept that.

"His contribution far outweighs the opportunities we were able to give, in terms of starting matches. He made us better each and every day he was with us – not just in the games he played in but every single session in training. Perfect attitude, winner’s mentality.

"His performances and his goals are the reason we have had to redecorate the Champions Wall so often. His achievements here will stand the test of time.

"I know he will be a big success at Monaco. I’m sure we will look on with a mix of celebration and envy as he progresses and flourishes there. He leaves with our appreciation and best wishes. Thank you, Taki."

Minamino was our top scorer in the FA Cup and Carabao Cup last season - it won't be incorrect to say that without him, the Reds might have ended the campaign trophyless. Instead, he helped complete the trophy set under Klopp and for that, fans will forever be grateful to him.

OFFICIAL: Liverpool confirm Minamino's transfer to Monaco

 has today completed a permanent transfer to AS Monaco.

The Reds have not disclosed the transfer fee but as per multiple earlier reports, the entire package is around £15.5 million.

Minamino joined the Reds in January 2020 and made 55 appearances for the club, scoring 14 goals and providing three assists.

While he could not hold down a position as a starter due to the attacking quality ahead of him, Minamino was a vital part of our cup double last season and had a positive impact on the team whenever he played.

Liverpool spent just over £7m for his transfer in 2020, so the Reds have made a decent profit in this sale.

"Minamino departs Liverpool having left a lasting impression on teammates, coaches and the club’s honours list. Everyone at LFC would like to thank Taki for his contributions and wish him every success in the next chapter of his career," the club wrote in their goodbye message to the forward.

I agree with you there but we need a decent midfielder NOW, not next season but it is what it is, hopefully 🙏 there will be a decent midfielder on the market for around £50/60mil 🤷🏻‍♂️if so then I do reckon that FSG and Co will put the money up for our genius of a manager to bring him to the greatest football club on the planet as most world class superstars would love the chance to play for Liverpool football club especially under KING 👑 JURGEN KLOPP 💯👏🏻OUR 97❤️NEVER 🙏FORGOTTEN !!

All I say is that I’m sad and angry regarding TAKI leaving Liverpool, he’ll be needed this coming season, praying 🙏 that we don’t get any injuries AGAIN as we definitely can’t afford to due to no reinforcements coming into our beautiful football club, next summer isn’t any good as we need a midfielder now, Goodbye and good luck TAKI, you’ll be sadly missed !!
