Darwin Nunez is a Liverpool player and is set to wear the number 27 jersey for the Reds next season.

The Uruguayan striker spent time with three other clubs before the Reds, as well as making appearances for his national team. Let's take a brief look at his shirt history here.

CA Peñarol

Nunez spent four seasons with the Uruguyan club and wore three different jersey numbers during his stint.

His first-ever jersey number was 26, in the 2016-17 season. Nunez then changed to the number 29, before wearing the number 24 during his final two seasons with the club. Here is him playing for Penarol:

Nunez didn't get a lot of playing time at this club, however. Across four seasons, he made 22 appearances, scoring four goals and assisting one.

UD Almería

The next step in the striker's career was a move to Almeria in La Liga 2. Nunez spent one season there but his game time and attacking returns significantly improved.

The Liverpool man played 32 games for Almeria, scoring 16 goals with three assists. Here is how he looked:

SL Benfica

Benfica is where Nunez started catching the world's attention, especially due to his performances in the Champions League.

Nunez spent two seasons with Benfica and finally moved to the No.9 jersey number, symbolic of strikers. In two seasons with the club, Nunez scored 47 goals and assisted 16 more in 84 appearances.

He scored six goals in 10 Champions League games, including a goal against Liverpool in last year's knockout stages.

Uruguay national team

Nunez made his debut for the U20 team on October 9, 2018. He had 14 caps for the team, scoring four goals.

Seeing his form with the youth team and just after his big move to Almeria, he was called up to the senior men's team on October 16, 2019. Since then, he has 11 caps and two goals for the country and is expected to play a part for them in the World Cup.

He wears the No.11 for Uruguay and here is an image of him with former Red Luis Suarez.
