Liverpool put Tyler Morton's loan move on hold due to injuries in the squad (reliability: 4 stars)

Tyler Morton was supposed to leave for his first loan spell this summer, with a deal having been agreed between Liverpool and Blackburn.

However, according to the Lancashire Telegraph, the move has been put on hold.

Liverpool are concerned about the number of injuries in the squad, and Jurgen Klopp wants to keep Morton around for the time being.

As we currently know, Liverpool are without Diogo Jota and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain who picked up injuries during the pre-season. It's not clear if any other player is sidelined to prevent Morton from leaving.

The deal could yet be revisited later in the window thanks to the good relationship between the clubs.

In the previous two years, Blackburn took on loan a Liverpool player as well, even though the results were varied. Harvey Elliott was a clear success, while Leighton Clarkson had his loan cut short in January.
