Second half. Liverpool 0–3 Strasbourg: LIVE updates, reactions, stats, ratings

🏁 And that's it, the referee blows the final whistle.

Liverpool's final game of the pre-season ends in a 3-0 defeat. Strasbourg punished the young Reds side for the mistakes they made.

Mabaya, a right-back, couldn't control the ball in the box leading to Strasbourg's opener. Then Chambers, a left-back, made a poor clearance resulting in the visitors doubling their lead. Chambers' poor pass to Milner caused Strasbourg's third goal.

Liverpool had a few chances to pull one back but nothing too dangerous.

Bajcetic, Frauendorf and Carvalho have impressed: here are our full-time ratings.

⌚86' Milner nearly scores but Sels saves. Good playmaking from Elliott here.

⌚80' Elliott fires over from outside the box!

⌚78' A brilliant bit of skill in the opposition box from the Polish Messi to beat two Strasbourg defenders.

πŸ”„77' Musialowski, nicknamed the Polish Messi, replaces Frauendorf.

⌚ 76' Frauendorf scores but he was offside.

⌚65' A good effort by Morton but Sels, that's Strasbourg's keeper, parries it away.

⌚64' Carvalho puts his shot over the bar, it was a decent chance for the Reds.

⌚61' Luke Chambers shoots from outside the box but it's not really a problem for the Strasbourg keeper. Good that the young left-back doesn't let his mistakes affect him.

πŸ”„ 57' Clark and Van den Berg for Bajcetic and Konate. Konate appears to have picked up a knock but hopefully nothing too serious.

⌚53' Liverpool want a penalty for what looked like a foul on Milner in the box.

⌚51' Davies a bit hesitant to claim the ball in the area after but Nat Phillips clears.

πŸ”„46' Nat Phillips on for Isaac Mabaya. That's the only change at the break as we're back underway.

Half-time. Things are certainly not going according to plan for Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp decided to give young players some experience against a top-flight French side and Strasbourg exploited the youngsters' mistakes.

Mabaya's poor control led to the visitors' opener while two errors, a poor clearance and an under-hit pass, by Luke Chambers, resulted in the second and third goal, respectively.

There are some positives, though. The Reds are pressing well and I'm very impressed by Bajcetic's tenacity, the Serbian looks like a baby Fabinho type of player. He nearly scored from a free kick a few minutes before the half-time whistle.

πŸ“Š Half-time ratings

Good: Bajcetic 8, Frauendorf, Carvalho 7

Average: Elliott 6.5. Davies, Konate, Gomez, Milner, Morton 6,

Poor: Mabaya, Chambers 4

⌚41' Bajcetic!!! What an effort from a free kick! Forces the keeper into a spectacular save.

⌚38' Carvalho's effort goes over the top, some nice technique by Fabio to create space for himself.

⌚33' Frauendorf wins the ball next to Strasbourg box but the ball gets stuck between his feet and the young midfielder is dispossessed.

⌚29' Mabaya gets the ball in a dangerous position on the right but he can't get his cross right after Joe Gomez produces a fantastic turn in the build-up.

⌚Some high-intensity pressing from the young Reds. Carvalho wins the ball in the opposition's box but the referee blows a foul.

⚽21' Thomasson bags a brace. Senaya beats Milner for the ball, runs away and sets up Thomasson who puts the ball past Davies. Chambers did not do well here with a back pass to Milner that led to the goal.

⌚18' Frauendorf makes a good turn and pass to Milner but a Strasbourg defender steals the ball from James.

⚽ 14' Diallo doubles Strasbourg's lead. A brilliant left-footed finish. Chambers' mistake this time.

⌚12' A big chance for Liverpool! Elliott nicely sets up Carvalho in the box but Fabio hits the side-netting. Lovely link-up between Harvey and Carvalho here.

⌚10' Mabaya makes a low cross from the right, Morton nearly gets to the ball but a Strasbourg defender clears the ball away.

⌚ 9' Luke Chambers makes a poor clearance but Senaya shoots straight at Davies who calmly collects the ball.

πŸ—£ ThatRexGuy: "Just a youth symptom there by Mabaya, got done by an experienced striker. Nothing a loan can't fix. Which is why I keep stressing how important it is that we get senior football for these lads."

πŸ—£ Love this from Scouse Socialism on Twitter: "Remember everyone, if you're moaning about a Liverpool team with an average age of about 14 conceding a goal, you need to get a life. The whole point of these games is to get fit!"

⚽ 4' Strasbourg open the scoring through Thomasson as he capitalises on Mabaya's mistake.

⌚1' And we're underway at Anfield!
