Nat Phillips likely to stay at Liverpool until January after Konate's injury

 suffered an injury during the friendly against Strasbourg and is expected to be out indefinitely with no return date set yet.

Konate is Liverpool's third-choice centre-back and his injury will change the club's transfer plans for 

The gaffer said in his recent press conference: "It [Konate's injury] will influence the outgoing transfers."

Phillips will likely be the fourth choice at the position, with 

 taking Konate's place in the pecking order. 

It is not known if Phillips will be sold in January but he is almost certain to not leave the club this month now, James Pearce confirms.

Every player that signs for Liverpool is presumed to be good. I do not think the scouts will go for substandard players. 

Tell me one player who was bad in his previous club before signing for Liverpool.

spot on Raymond, Nat Philips deserves playing more games he's way better than the injury prone Gomez or Konate.

See how Phillips was benched for so long last season. We all saw how rusty he was during the preseason games. 

I have always maintained that, you don’t keep players on the bench for that long and expect them to do magic when brought into the game for a very short time. All players in the team need to be given equal opportunities. 

You don’t always keep a player on the bench and fall on him only when there are injuries and expect him to play at the highest level. It doesn’t work that way.

My thoughts too. They tried to get rid of Nat for a long time and if Konate is out for a short period that wouldn't chance anything with Nat

makes me feel that konate injury is worse than the club would have us believe, why keep Phillips in for 5 or 6 months to cover an injury that should be cleared in 2 or 3 weeks???
