Liverpool have started the season with some sort of injury crisis. The midfield position is the worst hit with as many as four midfielders already sidelined - Thiago, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones and youngster Kaide Gordon.
The Reds can improvise with Elliot, but many Liverpool fans are unhappy that Jurgen Klopp has not gone all out to sign a midfielder this summer.
One fan on Tribuna.com Eddy Peter is so dissatisfied that he predicts Liverpool won't make the top four if they don't sign a new midfielder.
"You guys are not serious. We won't see the top 4 if we don't get a midfielder. Just watch." Eddy Peter writes.
Another fan, claims the Reds won't make headway without a midfielder.
"As far as I'm concerned, Liverpool does not have good midfielders. We are in dire need of midfielders if we can make any headway," Israel Onyeoyibo comments.
The transfer window is still wide open with about three weeks still to go before it slams shut. Klopp can prevail on FSG to beef up the squad in midfield owning to the rigorous season that awaits Liverpool.
However, it sounds far-fetched to say Liverpool won't make the top four. Klopp's men are among the strongest contenders for the title.
