The 2-2 draw with Fulham wouldn't have hit Jurgen Klopp as hard as having to lose Thiago to another injury.
It's bad enough that there are two other notable Liverpool midfielders still spending time on the treatment table - Naby Keita is gradually regaining fitness while Curtis Jones is still down with a knock picked up in preseason.
Now, here's a way Klopp can set up his lineup for the game against Palace on Monday night:
Liverpool XI: Alisson; Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson; Henderson, Fabinho, Elliot; Salah, Darwin, Diaz
The simple answer to the problem is Harvey Elliot slotting into that midfield void created by Thiago's injury. Someone like James Milner can enter the game in the second half to make things secure.
Elliot has shown vision, energy and exuberance playing in midfield for Liverpool and was decent when he came on for Thiago against Fulham.
