Nunez tops Haaland, Messi, Lewandowksi in the penalty box - see how
Darwin Nunez has touched the ball 59 times in the Premier League this season. According to Opta, 44% of them came in the penalty area (26), the highest percentage of any player in Europe's big five leagues in 2022-23 (min. 50 touches).
This means the Liverpool star has had more touches in the box than the likes of Erling Haaland, Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski.
But Nunez has started just twice in the Premier League and scored only once so far. In comparison, Haaland, Messi and Lewandowski have netted 11, four and eight times for Manchester City, PSG and Barcelona respectively.
Núñez will have another opportunity this Saturday against Brighton.
