Thiago 'looks certain' to miss out on World Cup squad - The Athletic

 midfielder did not receive a call-up for the upcoming Nations League games against Switzerland and Portugal.

The 31-year-old has not featured for his national team once since last year's European Championship, due to injuries to a large extent.

If Thiago misses out on the Spain squad for the World Cup, it will be a boost for Liverpool who will try to keep him fit for the second part of the season.

A few weeks ago, Thiago recovered from an injury that ruled him out for a month. His performances since then have shown his importance to the team.
