'Nothing compares to being there': Alisson ahead of Brazil's first World Cup game vs Serbia

"I am really looking forward to it, it will be my second World Cup," Alisson told the official Liverpool website ahead of Brazil's first game in Qatar.

"It's something amazing, nothing compares to being there on that stage playing for your national team, singing the national anthem. It's indescribable.

"It's a great feeling having my family there around me, together, supporting me. It's a dream, a kid's dream come true.

"We are confident, but we have a few players that played in the World Cup in 2018 and we know how difficult it is to be there, [to] play games. Each opponent you have in front of you has quality, desire and passion.

"You don't have space to make mistakes, so you have to be perfect if you want to win the competition. We trust in our quality, we trust in our players, we trust in the manager and we know the shirt we are wearing carries history behind it.

"We feel even stronger when we put the yellow shirt on, so we are going to go there full of desire and passion to represent our nation."

On Thursday, November 24, Brazil will take on Serbia, and Alisson is expected to be his national side's No.1 - just as he was four years ago when Brazil was knocked out in the quarter-finals.
