Why Brazil coach prefers Fred to Fabinho — ex-Red explains

Fabinho finally made his first World Cup appearance in a 1-0 defeat against Cameroon. The game didn't really matter for Brazil so their head coach Tite gave playing time to under-used players. In the first two games, United midfielder Fred started ahead of Fab.

"He is a little bit off form, but Fred is the surprise one for me. He seems to be a different player when he pulls on the Brazil shirt. He plays with freedom and pops up in some great positions in forward areas."
