Naby Keita & 6 more: players who might leave Liverpool in 2023

Liverpool have worked hard to extend the contracts of their key players and largely succeeded in it, with most of their stars set to remain at Anfield for a few years.

That said, there is still a number of first-team players who might leave Liverpool in the next two transfer windows. Here, we're taking a look at some of them.

James Milner. The veteran will likely decide his future himself. If he wants to stay at Liverpool for another season, Jurgen Klopp would not mind. If he wants to leave, it will be the most amicable departure.

Adrian. The Spaniard is almost in an identical situation to that of Milner. The only difference is that his future might depend on Caoimhin Kelleher's ambitions to be a regular starter elsewhere.

Roberto Firmino. The Brazilian's contract also expires next summer, so he's on this list by default. However, Liverpool want to keep the forward and there are already contract talks with him.

Naby Keita. The Guinean has reportedly delayed contract talks with Liverpool himself. However, him being injured all the time since the Community Shield has done nothing to convince the club he merits a new deal.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Another injury-prone midfielder who looks likely to be heading towards an exit door. He has at least made a few appearances in the league.

Arthur Melo. The midfielder's agent has already stated that he will stay at Anfield until the end of his loan spell. It's hard to envisage him remaining in the Liverpool shirt beyond the summer.

Nat Phillips. The only player on that list whose contract is not expiring after this season. However, after making only three first-team appearances for the Reds, the centre-back could push for an exit.
