'We've just been unable to score': Trent opens up on his chemistry with Nunez amidst criticism of striker

Trent Alexander-Arnold believes there's a strong connection between himself and Darwin Nunez even though it hasn't been translated into goals just yet.

“The chemistry [with Nunez] has been there from early doors this season," Trent told Football Daily in his interview.

"You see we have just one goal together all season, it's easy to say we've not found the same wavelength.

"But if you go back and watch some games and If you watch the chances created, I’ve been putting balls into him from early on in the season and we just haven’t been able to score from them.

"He's a player, I think that it's easy to just write him off and say he's not scoring goals and all that. But he's getting himself into areas and places where he's able to hurt the opposition and that's all you can really ask.

"That means that when the goals do start coming, and we have faith that it will, everyone will see.

"We're all behind him, supporting him and we believe he'll come good," Trent adds.

Trent has only combined with Nunez for one goal this season, it came in the 2-2 draw against Wolves in the FA Cup.

Nunez has been criticized for his missed chances recently, but the striker has registered 10 goals in his first 23 games. That isn't woeful for a player still getting used to a new environment, language and culture.
