Fan names one potentially big issue with Qatari takeover - it's not morals

"Ignoring the obvious issues with Qatari ownership. Let's not forget that Qatar have done a pretty bad job at PSG," Liverpool fan VirgilCanDijk writes on Reddit

"Lots of behind-the-scenes drama, overspending to build a team that lacks cohesion, players having way too much power.

"I mean I remember one window when they were going to buy a player, but they had already outspent what FFP allowed on another (I think it was Lucas Moura) so they had to basically wait another year before signing him. Which if true, just points to how shit they are at planning something.

"Their ownership of PSG just reeks of incompetence. Obviously, they were always going to win multiple Ligue 1's because no one in France could compete with them financially, but the PL is different."

Some Liverpool fans are apprehensive about Qatari investors taking over because they may erode the rich culture at the club. Hence, Liverpool could become a state-owned club like Manchester City.

However, the cash inflow and marquee signings by potential Qatari investors will be welcomed with open arms by many in the club's fanbase at the moment. Running the club successfully without breaking financial fair play rules will be a small matter if they were to work with the smart brains at FSG who have done that for over a decade now.
