Klopp: 'Injuries have made it an especially bad season so far'

 that it would have been irresponsible to leave their clubs in a difficult season.

“I don’t think it’s a race, but I think I said that before Pep said it. That’s the reason why I signed a new contract,” Klopp told reporters.

“To be 100 percent honest, I knew it would be difficult, absolutely. Yes, last year was super intense, much longer than we could have expected.

“Who expects to play in all finals? We are positive and optimistic, but you cannot expect that really. Three weeks later, the pre-season started and all these kinds of things. That made it all not easier.

“That it would be difficult was clear, but with fewer injuries I think we agree we could easily have four or five points more at least.

“So [if so], we don’t play a brilliant season then, but we are really around and fighting for the Champions League – and that’s a normal season.

“The injuries made it an especially average or bad season so far. So that’s the difference then in these moments. All the teams out there, if decisive players are out then you cannot just replace them. That’s not possible, because of the things we spoke about.

“Like patterns, working on patterns, things go really well in a specific way – and you don’t have time to train on top of that. If something happens in the season you have three days until the next game, so it’s not like you can invent new football in these one-and-a-half sessions.

it's all draining. we've got a great first team, it would be nice to see them all on the same pitch at once for a change, and as for Transfers, we're just not there, I know we have a policy but with all these clubs becoming richer we may need to change our policy if we want to remain one of the biggest clubs in the world.

I do think it is a hangover from last season

NO other team, ever, reached all 4 finals - so to speak 

all those games plus for their country no other plsyer had that only our boys

to top it off we lost title by 1 point (we all know if proper VAR decisions were made it was ours in the bag)  we have to swallow it & move on

Same with CL final - RM literally got one shot...
we had  non stop shots...


all that said...that run has gotta take it outta ya, physically,  emotionally & mentally

Yes but we don't want to be a big club that used to win things. Nottingham Forest won the European Cup twice in two years and look where they ended up, just being a big club doesn't pay the bills we need to be winning things on a consistent basis. I was surprised that Konaté remained uninjured for so long. He has a long history of injuries at RBL so this is not entirely unexpected, mate 🙈
