Tottenham and Newcastle both lose - here's what it means for Liverpool's top-four chase

Liverpool have received a boost in the top-four race this weekend even before playing their game against Man United.

Both of the sides that separate them from fourth place lost on Saturday.

While Newcastle's 2-0 defeat at Man City was not a surprise, Tottenham unexpectedly lost to Wolves 1-0.

As a result, Liverpool have a chance to get closer to fourth place - of course, if they get something from their game on Sunday.

Should Liverpool beat Man United, they will be only three points behind Tottenham with a game in hand.

Newcastle would be one point behind Jurgen Klopp's team - albeit they will have a game in hand over the Reds as well.
