Increasingly unlikely that Liverpool will sign Bellingham: The Athletic

According to David Ornstein of The Athletic, as things stand, it is very unlikely that Liverpool will sign Jude Bellingham this summer.

Despite Jurgen Klopp being a big admirer of the player and Liverpool being linked to him for over a year, the club are not expected to be able to compete financially with Real Madrid and Man City for his signature.

Dortmund have him contracted till 2025 and are in no rush to sell. This means a big amount of money would be needed for a sale to happen this summer, and with clubs like City and Real interested, there may well be a bidding war.

According to the reports, Liverpool's pursuit of the player is not off but City and Real are in stronger positions to sign him.
