Newcastle United have reached out to Liverpool over the possibility of signing Joe Gomez at the end of the season, according to information shared by former Liverpool defender Jose Enrique.
Gomez recently signed a long-term contract with Liverpool which keeps him at the club until 2027 which means the Reds would have to make a decision about keeping or selling him.
The English defender has struggled with injuries and poor form since last season and is currently nursing an injury which has ruled him out of the last five games.
Some Liverpool fans have turned on Gomez during the season as the team struggled to defend well and keep clean sheets.
Gomez could still command a decent transfer fee if Liverpool decides to sell him. Transfermarkt website sets his value at €30m.
