Gakpo: 'Don't know yet what's up with the boys, need everybody fit'

"Obviously it was a day with everything in it," said Cody Gakpo after the Brentford win. "I think [it was] a very good performance from the team. We really showed the good mentality we needed in this game but a few injuries, which is not good for us.

"Obviously a lot of games are coming up and we need everybody to be as fit as possible, so hopefully it will be alright but I don't know yet what's up with the boys."

Sepp van den Berg admits he may have to leave Liverpool

"If I go back to Liverpool, they might want me to stay. If I see that I won't get much game time, then I might choose to leave. It's really important to me that I play," Liverpool defender Sepp van den Berg who is currently on loan at Mainz told Voetbal Nieuws.

"In previous years, I didn't feel like I would be starting next to Virgil. I don't know yet what my chances will be like next summer. I think I'm doing well. I can handle playing at Liverpool. I can compete. But being a starter is different. Virgil and Konate are not easy to beat. I know it will be hard."

De Zerbi reacts to Liverpool links

"When I hear that big teams are interested in me it is an honour. I am proud, but my focus is on my work day-by-day," Brighton head coach Roberto De Zerbi said after he was rumoured to be a target for several top clubs, including Liverpool.

"I would like in my career to compete to win the Premier League, Serie A, Bundesliga, La Liga, Champions League but there isn't a time when you have to go and compete, or to wait some more time.
