Virgil van Dijk delivered another commanding performance as Liverpool beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-0 in the Champions League on Tuesday.
After the game, Arne Slot had a message for those criticising the captain: "Virgil sometimes gets criticised about not stepping into the midfield.
"Now I would advise these people to watch this game today because he was constantly on the front foot."
Van Dijk played a key role in keeping a well-earned clean sheet vs Leverkusen, who were completely shut out of the game.
A hat-trick from Luis Diaz and another goal from Cody Gakpo was enough for Liverpool's landslide win.
