Man United are continued to being linked with AS Monaco forward Wissam Ben Yedder and are said to be maintaining close contacts with him.
According to Le10 Sport – known for their horrible transfer rumour game – the Red Devils have been ‘exchanging information’ with the striker’s entourage for the past year now. The report also suggests that RB Leipzig are looking towards making the Frenchman the replacement to Timo Werner, who will be joining Chelsea next season.
Ben Yedder is also said to be ‘in a good spot’ on United’s summer transfer list. The report indicates he’d be one of the first players they’d look towards if they want to sign another striker. It’s also said that the Frenchman wants Champions League football and will wait and see where United end up once the season is over.
The Red Devils’ interest for Ben Yedder seems to be genuine as ESPN reported they were closely monitoring his situation. The Frenchman could be available for a relatively cheap price as Monaco will sell many players in the summer, hence why United are keeping an eye over him.
But Odion Ighalo’s deal being extended till January indicates that United are unlikely to sign a striker in the summer. They are looking how to get a deal done for Jadon Sancho, for whom Borussia Dortmund are demanding an insane £100m asking fee in the current market.
