- This is according to the former Premier League shot-stopper Mark Schwarzer.
- The ex-Leicester and Chelsea man is baffled by the Spaniard's constant errors.
- A top goalkeeper can not afford to be so inconsistent, concludes the 47-year-old.
Mark Schwarzer has claimed that David De Gea is no longer an elite goalkeeper following the Spaniard's howler against Tottenham.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live, the former Chelsea and Leicester City shot-stopper said: "Over the past 18 months David de Gea has made a considerable amount of mistakes and that's not expected from a keeper at that level.
"For a top, world-class keeper, the maximum number of mistakes leading to a goal shouldn't be more than two a season and he's clearly made more than that."
De Gea made another mistake resulting in a goal with the Spaniard's blunder allowing Spurs to score an opener on Friday.
It's been suggested that the 29-year-old's dip in form is down to the wrong positioning of his feet and hands before shots come his way.
