Jamie Redknapp backs Pogba and Bruno to become 'a midfield double act that United fans fall in love with'
  • Pogba impressed in his short outing against Tottenham alongside Bruno.
  • The duo could start together for the first time against Sheffeild Utd on Wednesday.
  • Former Liverpool man Redknapp believes that the midfielders can 'click' and create a partnership.

Jamie Redknapp is confident that the Paul Pogba-Bruno Fernandes partnership at Old Trafford will be a success after watching the duo work together against Tottenham.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, the former Liverpool man said: "I could see Man United were crying out for Pogba on Friday and when he was brought off the bench it changed the game. It will be interesting to see if he starts on Wednesday against Sheffield United.

"In all of my time in football, I've never known a player to divide opinion as much as Pogba. But if you don't think this World Cup winner can play and is capable of doing special things, then I'm afraid you don't know football. That half-volleyed pass against Spurs into the path of Marcus Rashford was world class.

"If there had been a crowd, it would have drawn oohs and ahs. Pogba's introduction was a real positive, and there are already signs that he and Fernandes can click. There is an understanding there, and this could become a midfield double act that United fans fall in love with."

Bruno has quickly established himself as a key player at Old Trafford following his January move from Sporting Lisbon, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists in his first 6 Premier League games for the Red Devils.

Pogba, meanwhile, appears to be finally back to full fitness after practically being sidelined since August with a persistent ankle injury.
