'When you hit the valve the ball comes down more': Cristiano's free-kick technique at United was so good Drogba copied it

Cristiano Ronaldo's Man United spell was so successful that he even made other Premier League greats copy some of his on-the-pitch stuff.

Chelsea's Didier Drogba, for example, once revealed that he had duplicated Cristiano's free-kick technique during the Hull City game.

"I guess it was a bit like the one Ronaldo scored and it was deliberate. I tried to do it like that and lined it up to hit the valve.

"Everybody is aware of this technique now after Ronaldo and it's true that when you hit the valve the ball comes down more.

"But it is just technique - and I think his free-kick was a bit better than mine."
