Sean Dyche confirms 'couple of' coronavirus cases at Burnley ahead of Man United clash

Speaking to the media on Thursday, Burnley manager Sean Dyche said: "We have got a couple of [Covid-19] cases that will effect us. We have some at the moment and we are having to be wise and re-pod the players.

"The worry for us across the sport is the knock-on effect. We have a couple of cases, which could affect us over the next few days. We're having to be wise and push the rules as hard as we can, to stop any future cases."

"I know the general rule of thumb is getting 14 players out there to be active," he said. We would like to fulfill that and at this stage I think we will be fulfilling that. It might not be the 14 you always expect to see but I think we can go beyond 14."

Burnley's game vs MK Dons in the FA Cup on Saturday is currently set to go. More information regarding Manchester United's away game against Dyche's side in the Premier League next Tuesday is expected at a later date.
