Hannibal, Pogba & 9 more: Man United could field entire XI of academy players alone

Man United have the reputation for producing some of the best young players in England and giving opportunities to those who deserve it the most. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could even field an XI composed strictly of youth academy stars. Here’s how.

Henderson is arguably the best goalkeeper produced by United’s academy for a long, long time. A solid shot-stopper with impressive reflexes and ability to move the ball around, Henderson will undoubtedly be the goalkeeper in this.

Laird made his senior debut in the Europa League last season, putting in some encouraging performances. The feisty right-back loves going forward - he got 3 assists in 10 games for our U23s last season.

An agile, strong defender capable of ousting the trickiest of strikers, the youngster is an academy lad who could go on to achieve big things at United.

Irrespective of what the racist trolls think, Axel Tuanzebe is a future regular for United. The 23-year-old is a leader on the pitch. A defender who can bully Kylian Mbappe can take on the very best of them.

Brandon has looked more comfortable playing as a right-back than he did as a left-back. However, he’s more experienced at a senior level playing as a hard-working left-back. The tough Manc should be the fighter of this team.

McSauce has embodied everything great about United’s academy since breaking through the scenes under Jose Mourinho. He’s now developed into a vocal, leader-like figure. He’s definitely the perfect man to captain an all-academy XI because of his demanding attitude.

Some may have forgotten it, but Pogba remains a United academy graduate! The Frenchman has recovered very well from a disappointing start to the season, scoring 2 brilliant goals for United last month.

The most-recent academy product to become a mainstay in the team, Greenwood has made big strides in the senior level under Solskjaer. He scored a record-equalling 10 goals in the PL for us last season and seems to have found his groove now.

The 18-year-old has transcended into the playmaker for United’s U23s side this season, being a menace with his tricky movement and brilliant link-up play. With 7 goal contributions (2 goals, 5 assists) in 12 games for our U23s side this season, he’s been a constant menace. Among the youth stars, Hannibal is probably the most polished advanced midfielder.

Rashford has been the golden boy of United’s academy and reflected the club’s values with his exceptional charity work. On the pitch, he’s a nightmare for defenders with his brilliant dribbling runs. This season, Rashford has scored 16 goals and registered 9 assists in all competitions.

He has the tendency to score big goals against top teams and never shies away when the pressure is high, so Rashford should take great pride in being the leader in attack for an all-academy product side.

Hugill’s been the standout performer for United’s youth sides this season. In 18 games (for our U23s and U18s sides together), Hugill has scored 14 goals this season (including 4 against Liverpool U23s)! He’s a real goal machine in the final third, so he only deserves to lead this line.
