- The Welshman admits he speaks to Ole every day but one-on-one conversations are rare.
- James reveals that he was nervous while talking to Solskjaer before United’s game against Istanbul Basaksehir in November.
Speaking about a certain conversation he had with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer before Man United’s Champions League clash against Istanbul Basaksehir in November, Dan James said: “Sometimes it’s hard to go to the gaffer.
“I speak to him every day but going to see him one-to-one, being confident and saying I’m ready to play means you have to go out of your comfort zone.
“Coming out of that meeting, I think he loved I did that. He played me, I came on and scored.”
James did feature in the 4-1 win over Istanbul Basksehir after his conversation, scoring a late goal after coming on as a substitute. Despite having a tough first half of the season, the Welshman has been given more game-time over the last few months and enjoyed a lot of success in February – scoring 3 goals in 5 appearances for the Red Devils.
