'3 cups that you raised can't be removed': Mourinho sends classy message to retiring Valencia

Reacting to the news of Antonio Valencia's retirement from football, Jose Mourinho wrote on Instagram: "Antonio a pleasure to work with you and I wish you all the best.

"You have been a champion and I only have good memories of my captain. Three cups that you have raised can not be removed. Big hug, JM."

Valencia captained Manchester United during Mourinho's spell in charge at Old Trafford, winning the Community Shield, the EFL Cup and the Europa League under the Portuguese.

As for Mourinho, the 58-year-old will be taking over at AS Roma next season once his Euro 2020 punditry duties with The Sun and talkSPORT are over.
