Gareth Southgate didn't field a single Manchester United player for England's Euros opener vs Croatia - and he didn't include Jadon Sancho either.
Despite naming a 26-man squad, the Manchester Evening News reports that Southgate can only include 23 players for matchday. They add that Southgate is believed to have omitted the 21-year-old for 'performing poorly in the warm-up friendlies'.
Furthermore, Southgate needs to include two goalkeepers in a matchday squad as per tournament rules, thus restricting his outfield options further.
Meanwhile, United's links to the Borussia Dortmund winger have intensified over the last couple of days, with Sancho's camp reportedly considering the transfer a 'done deal'.
