After Scotland went down to a 0-2 loss to Czech Republic in their opening game of the Euro 2020, Rio Ferdinand took some time to mock his former boss Sir Alex Ferguson and said on his Vibe with Five podcast: “Sir Alex Ferguson has been on my phone all morning.
“Let me see if I can text him back right now! I'm gonna text him now: 'Are you OK boss?' He thinks they [Scotland] are going to beat us [England].
“He thinks they're going to overrun England. [I told him] they've got to get past this first game before that!”
Ferdinand also took some time to troll his former teammate Darren Fletcher and said: “Who's the other one I've got on my phone who's been blowing it up? Fletch, you alright?”
Scotland saw their chances of qualifying for the knockout stages take a big hit with the loss to Czech Republic – which leaves them in the bottom spot of group D. They next face England in what could be a must-win game for their chances of going past the group stages.
