When asked about the reason behind doing Cristiano Ronaldo’s iconic celebration after scoring his first England goal since 2018, Jesse Lingard told BeIN Sports: “Me and Mason (Mount) were thinking about celebrations this week and obviously we mixed my celebration with Cristiano’s and I said I’d do it if I scored.
“It’s a little welcoming gift for him. He’ll settle in very quickly and it will help the team tremendously this season.”
Lingard is clearly pumped up to play alongside Cristiano at United and fulfilling a childhood dream in doing so. He also impressed for England against Andorra, scoring a brace and also registering an assist!
Ronaldo should start training with the United squad later this week and is poised to make his second debut against Newcastle United on Saturday.
