Roy Keane: 'Lingard left in no man’s land at United'

When asked about whether Jesse Lingard is now left in ‘no man’s land’ after failing to move out of Man United in the summer, Roy Keane told ITV: “That’s the exactly the words I would use

“It’s been difficult, you thought he’d get a move. But he’s got to get his head down at Man United. Gareth [Southgate] obviously likes him, he’s had him in the squad a couple of times.

“It’s another opportunity for Jesse to get 90 minutes under his belt and maybe score a goal because he’s a good player, he just needs to play regularly.”

Lingard reportedly rejected a late move to West Ham United and is ready to fight for his place at Old Trafford.

He’s also extremely excited to play alongside Cristiano Ronaldo at the club and even dedicated his first goal for England in 3 years against Andorra on Sunday by mimicking his celebration.

The Englishman remains in Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s plans for the season, but it remains to be seen whether or not he’s able to gain a first-team spot anytime soon.
