Speaking to the media earlier this week, Pep Guardiola said: "I'm pretty sure the managers get better. Every season we go through you have a lot of learning every season, I'm sure Mauricio Pochettino is an excellent manager.
"You can be a top manager without titles, of course. The managers who have the chance to win titles are at top, top clubs with good investments and exceptional players. Otherwise – it is impossible to win.
"That doesn't mean that the other managers cannot be excellent managers in tactics, and communication, leading the team, as human beings. It's not necessary to win titles to be a top manager."
Guardiola's Manchester City beat Pochettino's Paris Saint-Germain 2–1 in the Champions League at the Etihad on Wednesday as pressure continues to mount on the Argentine.
The former Tottenham manager is struggling to get the best out of the Neymar–Kylian Mbappe–Lionel Messi front three amid massive links with a mid-season move to Manchester United.
