Cristiano Ronaldo’s Portugal side has been given a challenging route in their FIFA World Cup 2022 playoffs.
The Portuguese team has to defeat Turkey in the semi-finals of the World Cup playoffs, before potentially facing Euro 2020 champions Italy in the final.
That means only one team among Italy and Portugal will be able to play in the Qatar World Cup next year.
Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes missed out on automatic qualification after a shocking loss to Serbia a few weeks ago.
Portugal will now have to graft in their crucial playoff games in March to ensure that Ronaldo can play in his final World Cup next year.
