PSG ‘wanted £17m fee’ and one more condition fulfilled to let Pochettino join United

PSG had two conditions which needed to be fulfilled for them to let go of Mauricio Pochettino and allow him to replace Ole Gunnar Solskjaer at Man United, claims French outlet Telefoot.

Firstly, the Ligue 1 giants made it clear that they wanted the Red Devils pay £17m to buy out Poch’s contract, which runs until 2023.

Moreover, PSG would’ve only sanctioned the move if Zinedine Zidane had agreed to take over the club immediately.

The French club had lined up Zidane as Pochettino’s replacement but never really made an official move for him.

In the end, United abandoned the chase for the Argentine boss and went onto appoint Ralf Rangnick as an interim manager until the end of the season.

But, the Red Devils could go back for Pochettino in the summer and still have him as their no.1 target to become their next permanent manager.
