Man United planning to make ‘up to 4 signings’ in summer, unlikely to reinforce in January

Man United have planned to make as many as 4 signings in the summer transfer window, as per Manchester Evening News.

The Red Devils are highly unlikely to reinforce the squad in January and are already planning next season’s acquisitions.

United’s board accepts that the midfield ‘remains the biggest problem’ and are prioritizing strengthening that position next summer.

The Red Devils remain long-admirers of Declan Rice and are likely to make a move for him next season.

United are also going to be in the market for an attacking addition as the likes of Paul Pogba, Edinson Cavani, and Jesse Lingard all looking set to leave in the summer.

The club are also looking into signing a defender if Eric Bailly and Phil Jones are sold in the summer.

However, they’re likely to look into signing a quality right-back – with Brighton man Tariq Lamptey on their radar.

United are also going to sign a new backup goalkeeper if Dean Henderson leaves next summer, with Lee Grant’s contract also set to expire.

The Red Devils are currently looking to appoint their next permanent manager before the end of the season and will consult him on any new summer signings.
