James Garner records brilliant stats in Nottingham Forest’s win over Swansea - United fans desperately want him back

James Garner produced a fantastic performance in Nottingham Forest’s big 5-1 win over Swansea City on Saturday.

The Man United loanee assisted two of the goals in the game as Forest moved up to third in the Championship table with the win.

Forest are slowly becoming favorites to secure promotion to the Premier League next season and Garner is playing an influential role in it.

Here are his stats from the Swansea win

100% long ball accuracy

100% take-ons successful

100% shot accuracy

95% pass accuracy

45 touches

8 ball recoveries

8 chances created

7/8 duels won

7 crosses completed

2 fouls drawn

2 shots

2 assists

Man United fans were clearly delighted to see him perform so well and have just one desire from the club involving Garner as they reacted on Reddit.

Dayandnight95: “Certainly an upgrade on Mctominay at the very least.”

Legionverse10: “Honestly if Forest go up I don’t know whether I want him to stay for us or go back to them in the Prem. Guess it depends on how much Ten Hag will use him because he’s genuinely got a lot of talent and potential.”

ElBigTaco: “Why are people in here trying to protect Garner like hes some kid? Hes 21 and if he can do it at the championship level and the odd FA match against our PL rivals hes already an upgrade for us far as im concerned. Weve have academy products feature at much younger ages than Garner in the last couple of years and some really shined. If the lad thinks hes ready let him have a crack at it”

Iceman_aux: “Lad was magnificent. Superbly calm under pressure and seems to always know what pass to pick. Has wicked set-piece delivery and his assist for Surridge's second goal was magnificent. Picked the ball up in his own half, drove up the field, picked and weighted the final pass to perfection. He really shines in a slightly more advanced role but he's played very well from deeper too. Really hope he gets a chance at United next season or even a loan to a PL club.”
