Manchester United Under-23s boss Neil Wood is set to become the first team manager at Salford City, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The 39-year-old is set to take charge of the League Two side — owned mostly by the Class of '92 — that finished 10th this season, 7 points adrift of play-off spots.
New deal for Charlie Savage
Charlie Savage has signed a new three-year contract season at Man United with an option for a further season, it was officially announced on Thursday.
The 19-year-old midfielder, son of Robbie Savage, made his first-team debut against Young Boys at Old Trafford in the Champions League in December 2021.
Garner up for another loan at Forest
James Garner could return on loan to Nottingham Forest for another season if they get promoted to the Premier League, as per the Manchester Evening News.
The aim is for 21-year-old to get regular football in the top flight, and if Forest fall short, he will return to Old Trafford in hopes of playing under Erik ten Hag.
