OFFICIAL: Rangnick confirms United exit, won't stay in consultancy role

Ralf Rangnick has confirmed that he will not be staying on at Man United in the consultancy role next season.

The German manager will now fully focus on his job as the Austria national team manager and doesn’t believe he can concentrate on United because of the demands of his managerial job.

United acknowledged his departure and said in a statement: “We would like to thank Ralf Rangnick for his efforts as interim manager over the past six months.

“By mutual agreement, Ralf will now focus solely on his new role as manager of the Austria national team and will not therefore be taking up a consultancy role at Old Trafford.

“We would like to wish Ralf the best of luck in this next chapter of his career.”

Rangnick managed United for the second half of last season, but couldn’t help them finish in the Premier League top-4 or win any silverware. He leaves the club with the worst win rate for a United manager in the modern era.
