Speaking on talkSPORT radio, Dutch football expert Marcel van der Kraan said: "Erik ten Hag will want to play on the half of opponents, just like Pep Guardiola.
"He's a massive fan of Pep. I would almost think that there will be two teams with the same playing style in Manchester next season."
Ten Hag knows a thing or two about Guardiola's style of play having coached Bayern Munich II during the Spaniard's spell with the Bundesliga giants.
However, it remains to seen whether the Dutchman will be able to replicate his ideas at Old Trafford given the lack of depth and quality at Manchester United.
The 52-year-old needs to be backed in the transfer market as the Red Devils are facing their biggest squad overhaul since Sir Alex Ferguson left the club in 2013.
