As per the Manchester Evening News, a tier-two source, Sergio Romero is open to the idea of returning to Manchester United as a backup goalkeeper.
Romero, 35, left the club only a year ago and is a free agent following a spell with Italian club Venezia, who could not avoid relegation.
Erik ten Hag will only have David De Gea and Tom Heaton as goalkeeping options following Dean Henderson's loan to Nottingham Forest.
Although United are yet to register formal interest in Romero, the shot-stopper is reportedly open to a return.
Romero left after being frozen out of the first-team by Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, ironically falling behind Henderson in the pecking order.
The Argentine has made a total of 61 appearances for United, lifting the FA Cup, League Cup and Europa League in the process.
