Man United insist that Cristiano Ronaldo is not up for sale this summer, The Athletic's David Ornstein has reported.

The same journalist has confirmed the news that the 37-year-old has asked the club to let him go if a suitable bid arrives.

However, United expect Ronaldo to stay at least until the end of the contract in 2023.

Thus, it's going to be difficult for Ronaldo to orchestrate his exit, especially given the limited number of clubs that he'd consider and that would be able to pay his wages.
