Ten Hag: 'Garnacho showed himself in pre-season. He played well today'

When asked about his thoughts on Alejandro Garnacho’s performance in Man United’s 1-1 draw against Rayo Vallecano, Erik ten Hag said: “What you want is young players who deserve a chance, you want to give them a chance. 

“He shows himself in pre-season and that’s why he came in.  He played pretty well and his performance was really good..”

Garnacho was arguably United’s best attacking player on the day, even though he didn’t get a goal or assist. The teenager troubled defenders with his brilliant runs and set up some really nice chances too.

He will hope to stay in Ten Hag’s squad this season and compete with Marcus Rashford and Jadon Sancho for the left-wing position.
