Xavi's update on De Jong & 3 more under-radar stories at Man United today

Xavi provides another De Jong update

Barcelona manager Xavi has refused to rule out Frenkie De Jong's move away from Camp Nou before the summer transfer deadline amid the constant rumours regarding the midfielder's future.

The Spaniard told the media: "I don't know what will happen to Frenkie as until August 31st anything can happen. He knows what I think and what the club want and need. Of course I'm counting on him, he's a great player."

Dalot disappointed with Brighton defeat

Diogo Dalot, who started for Manchester United in the opening 2022/23 Premier League game against Brighton on Sunday, has looked back on the defeat.

The full-back told MUTV: "I think everyone felt that it was a disappointing result. We started really bad the first 45 minutes. Second half we got a little bit better but still not enough to win a game like this."

Milinkovic-Savic wants to join Man United

As per reports from Italian outlet Corriere dello Sport, Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has 'said yes' to a transfer to Man United.

The player would cost United £55 million to sign and would demand £120,000-per-week in wages. The reliability of the source is questionable but if the reports are true, it would be a great signing for Ten Hag.

Rio Ferdinand names his preferred front three

Man United legend Rio Ferdinand has named his first-choice attack in the United line-up and he has included Ronaldo in it. "Not even a question, start him, Jesus," he said.

"A 50 per cent fit Ronaldo, you're putting your money on him before anyone [else] in that team. I would start Ronaldo up front, Rashford on the left, Sancho on the right."
